FREDERICK,
MD - NaturaLawn of America was recently invited to speak at the
"Building A Greener Lifestyle" series given by Community
Commons on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Villages of Urbana Recreation
Center in Urbana. Representing NaturaLawn of America will be Regional
Manager and Certified Professional Agronomist, Mr. John DeNoma. Mr. DeNoma's presentation, Maintaining Your Lawn While Protecting Water Quality, will begin at 10 a.m. and will include how to prevent lawn problems such as the over-application of lawn fertilizers and pesticides, which affect our local waterways adding to the nutrient pollution our streams, bays, and reservoirs. "NaturaLawn of America developed alternative programs to help protect and restore the clean flows of our rivers and the natural waters of our ponds, lakes and wetlands and takes an active part in protecting coastal habitats," stated DeNoma. "We were the nation's first lawn care company to launch a phosphorus-free fertilizer program in the United States. We actually responded to the concerns many communities expressed regarding excessive amounts of phosphorus entering the waterways." NaturaLawn® of America's Phosphorus-Free Program was far in advance of any state regulations and now many states are actually requiring organic-based lawn care and implementing no phosphorus programs into their lawn and land care regulations. Additional information
can be obtained by contacting NaturaLawn of America at (301) 694-5440
